Javier Antonio's story

Meet Javier Antonio. From a young age he learned how to raise pigs and chickens. He has been able to build a small pigsty close to his home in rural West Panama to provide for his family, and he is known for being very hardworking and responsible.

Today, Javier Antonio is applying for a loan to finish building his pigsty, as it needs some investment in infrastructure. With the remaining resources, Javier Antonio plans to buy piglets and chicks. With the increased capacity and production, he plans to support his family and grow his young farming microenterprise.

In addition to generating economic opportunities, this loan also contributes to food security by supporting meat producers who offer affordable protein to the communities nearby.

Thank you for supporting young farmers living in regions that have been historically excluded from basic financial services. In this photo, Javier Antonio is cleaning a sector of his pigsty.
