Mariatu

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 35-year-old Mariatu from the Lunsar branch. She is a married businesswoman with three children between the ages of 5 and 13 years old. They are currently attending school.

Mariatu runs a retail business and sells cosmetic to her customers around the communities. She has been in this business for the past five years. She started this business to support her husband in taking care of her family. Mariatu says that her challenge is the increase in the wholesale cost of cosmetics.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more cosmetics to increase her business. Mariatu says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her family greatly. In the future, she would like to expand to a large scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
