Jane's story
Jane is 47 years old and lives in the town of Kabuusu in the Makindye region of Uganda. She is married and has 4 children with none of them currently in school. For the past 2 years, Jane has been working hard to manage her shoe retail business.
To help expand her business, Jane has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more shoes and will help Jane to generate greater profits and Improve on the standard of living of her family.
Jane hopes that in the future she will be able to expand her business. She is a member of BRAC's Microfinance Program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members, like her, who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
