Laukaupo'uli's story
Laukaupo'uli is a mother of seven kids and a grandmother of more than 10 grandkids. Her husband has no job, so he is the little helper of Laukaupo'uli in her weaving business. This family consist of eight member, who live together in the same house.
She makes a living for her family from her weaving business. She has been weaving for over 20 years. She learned how to weave from her mother, thus taking advantage of her skills to start up this weaving business.
Laukaupo'uli and the other 10 women in her village gather in a hall to perform weaving. They weave fihu and taovala in different sizes and styles. The prices of her woven products depend on the size of the product. But her price is affordable, and the products are of good quality.
This weaving business earns a good income in a good week that helps to cover her weekly expenses and other financial needs and wants and that also helps her repayment each week.
She sells out her woven products to the local people and some buyer from overseas. This loan aims to help her buy more white pandanus that she use for weaving fihu and the taovala, so that all her dreams for her weaving will come true.
