Tufui
A loan of $1,075 helps to buy more stock of pandanus to use in her weaving business.
Tufui's story
This is Tufui. She is a mother of three kids and the wife of a technician. The kids are still attending school. They all live in their own house in the town area.
This family makes a living from her husband being paid weekly and from her weaving business.
She weaves by herself but sometimes she joins into a group of women in her village to perform a weaving. They weave the taovala ( a Tongan type of dress), mats and fihu in different sizes and styles. According to Tufui her husband's income is not stable because it depends on when someone hires him to do a service or to fix their broken vehicle.
This is why she doesn't want to quit her weaving because it helps them a lot. She prefers sending her weaving products, such as taovala, overseas to sell rather than selling it here because she earns better money from overseas.
The price of her taovala and mats depends on the size and the decoration of that product. The money from her business can cover her family's weekly expenses and her weekly loan repayment.
She applied for this loan to help her to buy more stock of pandanus that she will use for her weaving business.
