Jane's story
Jane is 21 years old and lives in the town of Njeru in the Njeru region of Uganda. She is married and has 5 children with 4 of them currently in school.
Jane has been working hard to manage her mobile money / e-commerce business, which does mobile money transfers.
To help her to expand her business, Jane has requested a loan of 4,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more float and retail goods to start a retail shop. This will help Jane to generate greater profits and she will be able to expand her business.
Jane hopes that, in the future, she will be able to start a wholesale shop. She is a member of BRAC's Microfinance Program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members, like her, who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
