Christina's story
Meet 48-year-old Christina, from Liberia. She is married and has 4 children; three of whom are still in school. Christina attended school up to ninth grade.
Christina is a hardworking businesswoman who sells palm nuts, fufu, oil, bitter balls, chairs and pepper and a skill she learned from her mother. Twenty-five years ago, she started her business and has been running it ever since. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site and works Monday through Saturday.
Christiana has applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner, to purchase more palm nuts, fufu, oil, bitter balls, chairs and pepper to sell to her loyal customers.
She values her business because it helps support her family. In the future, she hopes to improve her business and build a house. Christina is very grateful to BRAC and the Kiva community for their ongoing support.
