Raymunda's story
Raymunda is 44 years old, lives in the department of Huehuetenango, and speaks Spanish.
She is married and her spouse works in commerce. She has three children from ages 11 to 18. Two of her children are studying in fourth and seventh grade. Her eldest daughter has only six years of formal education, is in a relationship and has given Raymunda a grandchild.
Raymunda is an enterprising woman who for the past eight years has effectively an animal raising business (raising pigs and sheep). She sells at home and in the local market.
With the support from small loans and part of her earnings, five months ago, Raymunda started a second business selling secondhand clothes. Thanks to the support from her employee, she provides good customer service.
She is happy because with the earnings she can contribute to the family finances. The personalized technical training are helping propel her success. Topics like budgeting, inventory, and customer service are helpful for her.
She is requesting her third Kiva loan to invest in her existing businesses and start a new business.
She plans to sell fast-food. Raymunda will buy a fast-food cart to make hotdogs, animals, and secondhand clothes. Raymunda imagines herself as the owner of big businesses and opening an everyday store to generate more income.
Thank you very much to the Kivan lenders.
