Maria Juana
A loan of $1,500 helps to buy farming supplies and small livestock.
Maria Juana's story
This indigenous woman is Juana who is 38 years old. She is happy and very friendly to the people around her. She lives with her husband and children in a small modest house in the community of Tixan. Her main source of income is farming, cattle ranching and breeding small livestock such as pigs, chickens, guinea pigs and sheep. She and her siblings were taught the techniques by their parents, knowledge which has been passed down from generation to generation. Juana hopes to continue developing her farm work, in particular by expanding her crops. For this reason she is requesting a loan to buy farming supplies which are very necessary for maintaining and looking after the crops, as well as buying some small livestock to breed and sell. Juana's greatest dream is for her children to have good jobs.
