Ulamila
A loan of $1,025 helps to restock on grocery goods for her store.
Ulamila's story
Like many rural women, Ulamila runs a grocery store. These micro retail outlets sell items like noodles, biscuits, eggs, margarine, soap, canned goods and sweets.
Ulamila estimates that if her shelves were fully stocked, she could achieve sales of $50 a day. But with little working capital – and with the family consuming her stock in lean times – she needs an injection of funds. A loan to restock her shelves should boost Ulamila's earnings and ensure she can continue to meet her family's daily needs.
