Jean Bernard
A loan of $1,100 helps to buy a dairy cow and feed for it.
Jean Bernard's story
Jean Bernard is 35 years old. He is married and the couple have two children. He lives in a semi-rural neighborhood in their own house. He runs an épi-gargote [small grocery cum eatery] every day. He has also been raising cattle for over ten years. His wife sells vegetables. He joined Vahatra to take out a loan, which proved profitable. He bought a motorcycle with his earnings. Now he would like to raise more livestock to increase his income and improve their living conditions. So he is seeking the support of lenders to buy a dairy cow and feed for it. He will sell the milk from the cow to regular wholesalers. He will put the proceeds into savings with a view to building another, more modern house in the future.
